When high school senior Victoria Evans finds a ring in the ground at the local museum, she knows the responsible thing to do is return it. But through a little bad luck and a lot of impatience from the ring's rightful owner, Victoria never gets the chance and accidentally puts it on. Now the ring is stuck on her hand, monsters have started invading the world and a seven hundred year old dead magician is telling her it's her job to put things right. With the help of the ring's owner and the dead magician Victoria is picking up a new extracurricular activity: learning magic and becoming the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
